Recipe Card - Jello pie

This is a true anchor from weight watchers over 10 years ago.  Jello pie.  This thing is really 4 points.  I seen where it said 3 points in a couple of places, but when I calculate it, its 4.  This is great to take to parties or have when you might be tempted.  You can make it in all kinds of variations.  This time I had strawberry, next time I think I am using upside down pineapple cake yogurt and lime jello, to have a pina colada pie.  I might by pass the crumbs crust too.  So enjoy!

Week 1: Beef Stroganoff

See the WW, hmm, after all my success I am back onto weight watchers.  The new points plus made me lose it quick, but it came right back on.  So after a week kicking the idea that I needed to start again, last night I made the commitment.

So in search of a refresher I found Debra at Losing it!  Who is sharing day by day her efforts to be on plan.  She was a bunch of inspiration for me and I do suggest you check her out.  For the love of good food, I wanted to share this recipe for stroganoff. When I first started weight watchers almost ten years ago, this recipe was my go to for comfort.

My recipe card is a 5by7.  I love printing them at the photo lab and laminating them.  I use storybook creator and this layout is made from Creative Memories Rugged Outdoors Digital Addition.

Winter Bookmarks!

I love the bookmarks done by Controlling my chaos!  so I am making a point to make my own.  The ones I am making this month, I will give away in a goodie bag at a crop this weekend and I will use them as bookmarks for my daughters class.  So here it is. Print it out on 4 by 6, I will send mine to the photo lab. Cut the photo to 2 by 6, fold it in half to be 2 by 3.  Place magnets at the bottom to close.

Digi – Tic Tac TOe!

So I am still testing myself to think outside the scrapbook pages for my digi work.  I seen some cool printables and decided to make my own.  So I made a tic tac toe board for this month.

Just print it on regular letter size paper, cut out the pieces and play.  I think I am going to put mine on the fridge for the kids to play and do magnets for the pieces.  I again used Cheerful Halloween Digital Kit.  I hope you like it, because it is here for you to have.

Digital Hybrid – Christmas Planner

Alright, I am trying to challenge myself to think outside the box with my digital program!  So I was sifting through the web and cam across a lot of sites gearing up for an organized Christmas.  Now in years past, I had promised myself I would make one for me, well after the house went hushed last night.  I designed one on my digital storybook creator and then this morning I put it all together.

It is so nice being able to lay it out in the storybook creator and then print, cut and glue!  And I get to easily share it with you!  So here is my planner!

So I am using a brand new creative memories digital kit.  It is the Very Merry Digital Kit and is only $8.95 to download.  The kit comes with all this!

So In the first 2 pockets I have my to do list for each month and then lined paper to track my gifts.

 

Next pockets is for any cooking and then another to keep track of cards sent and received.

When I put the planner together, I had to use 2 pieces of 12 by 12 aqnd I ended up with a pocket at the back.  Then I realized how perfect.  I sealed an envelope and trimmed it to fit and added a tab and it became my receipt holder!  

 

See it is sturdy enough to stand up on its own!

Party time! #1 is turning 6

So what do I love most about being mom!  Birthdays!  They were a miserably difficult experience to birth these wonderful children.  I never thought I could ever go through that much pain and live through it, much less be so happy.  I must say, God has a great since of humor.  It is horrible to go through it once, but then to repeat the process.  Hmm, must be a bit crazy.  So I love each birthday, because I am having another year with my child and I can celebrate that I went through the worst pain I can imagine and survived!  Wow!  My body is amazing for its strength!

So this week is #1’s storybook character parade and it works perfect with our costumes anyways.  So here is my little pig (1 of 3).

I still have 2 more pigs to make.  The overalls were a pair I had made for #2.  I added pink to the straps and the cuffs and was so thankful they fit here.  My husband and I had it out trying to put the snaps on them (this goes back to having 2 engineers that live and breath together).  I made the ears and tail out of felt and I used a good gauged wire left over from my wedding stuff.  I did pick up the nose at the party store.

So to celebrate at school, we brought in cupcakes.  To help make it special they had to be cute.

Plenty of candy, another cake for just the family tonight.  What a mess!  I am so thankful for the Dollar Tree when it is birthday time!  I got her a balloon for each year!

 

I made custom bag toppers for her goodie bags. 

I am really trying to challenge myself to do more everyday stuff with my digital program.  I look forward to sharing some more of my ideas!

Digital Recipe Cards – Cheerful Halloween Digital additions Preview

I am so excited that I got to preview one of the new digital additions from my Creative Memories Consultant, Tracy Croy!  She has really managed to get me hooked on making recipe cards.  They are relatively easy and then you can print them out via a 4x6 printing service or at home.  So I was able to play with the new Cheerful Halloween Digital Addition.  This picture shows you everything you get in the kit.   I have to say this is amazing!  Since the digital file is only $5.95!

So I decided the best thing for some good recipes to add to my recipe collection would be to look in www.familyfun.go.com.

The best digital scrapbook site yet.

 

This past weekend I was at a scrapbook retreat and was introduced to this site.  It is amazing.  It has a ton of free stuff for the Creative Memories Storybook Creator.  It has video tutorials, free page templates and books, and free images.  They do a wonderful job training you to be more productive in the program.  Also, they have 2 great blueprint books that motivate you to complete a themed book in just about 3 hours, with or without pictures.

Please, if you scrapbook digitally or ever thought about it, please check it out.  It is a wonderful site.

March 2010 DCWV Template

Alright, found a new cool website called 4share.  Well now you can directly go to this link for the StoryBook Creator template without emailing me for it.  So you won’t have to wait on me for it!

DCWV Design Challenge #1

As I have told you earlier, DCVW now has their paper packs digitally.  I think to make us even crazier, they are offering their first design challenge.  Well, they use the Adobe photo shop to create and endorse it.  Well, I did some searching and learned how to make a template for the Storybook Creator 3.0.   Now my main motivator is that I really want to buy a kit, but I have purchased so much in the last, hmm, 2 weeks since I bought it, I figured I need to cool it.  Well, then I need a valid reason to buy DCWV content now, instead of later.  Well, the challenge is a sturdy reason, right?

In order to do the challenge, you need to go by their template. But their template doesn’t work in the StoryBook Creator.

So, I inserted the template as a .jpeg and built a template from it.  And here it is!

Hybrid Craftin’ with my Digital Software

This is my Dollar Tree find!  The entire container was blue, I used some of my Indian Summer Fall Paper Stack by DCWV to cover the entire outside of the container.  I used a Sizzix Top Notes by Stampin Up for the red piece.  I needed to put a label on it.  So I went to my Story Book Creator and found some nice paper and typed out what I needed, I then add the butterfly and dragonfly and a doodle to the edges.  I turned them white, mostly for economic reasons, white is less ink than black.  I printed and cut it out.  I adhered all paper to the container with modge podge, I also created a protective layer of modge podge to keep the paper from getting ruined and to be able to wipe it clean.

So what did I put in it? Well, I am keeping the little gummie treats I get, the mini cookies, and peeps in there.  And the silicone cupcake layers.  The beloved lunch items were taking over my entire counter.  As they migrated around the counter, they began to taunt the children to taste them.  So in order to keep the bento treats in order and out of the sight of little tummies, I decided to contain them, prettily!

Oh a day with modge podge, is a good day.

DCWV went Digital

I just got the best email this morning!  DCWV (Die cuts with a view) is now offering their paper collections in a digital format.  They are doing this under the name 330dpi.  The official website is: http://www.300dpi.com/

Woohoo!  DCWV is some of my favorite paper.  I love the many color palettes, the embellishments, and the affordability of it!  Well, DCWV continues to keep its customers in mind, by now offering digital.  As a Storybook Creator user, I am not able to use their templates.  All of their templates are designed to be used by Adobe Photo Shop.  Here is their purchase pick.  I still believe Creative Memories is THE top notch product out there for digital.  But then again I have not used any other.

Just to give you a taste of their products, they offer a freebie.  Right now it is an embellishment kit from Downtown Loft.  I downloaded it and brought it into my content manager without a problem.  You can get there from this link:http://www.300dpi.com/free_downloads

Within the Zip drive of embellishments is a jpeg 8 1/2 x 11 of the contents and the title of the package.  I appreciate this, because as soon as I get to a good printer, I am going to print my contents and keep them together in a binder.  To make it easier to see what I have when buying or designing.

Free Digital Scrapbooking!

I am not sure what I love most, being able to scrapbook as I flip pancakes, thanks to digital scrapbooking or getting free content for it.   I just learned the exciting part of the Story Book creator!  I can take my favorite non-Creative Memory paper that I have been hording away for year, for fear of ruining it, and scan it into my digital content.

 

So here is a page I made using my scanned paper.

Not only can you add to you content by scanning in your personal stock of paper, you can even download it from Creative Memories.  Now, this is not in the shopping section of the website, this is special!  I just happened to stumble on it.  Look how cool some of the embellishments are:

I must say!  I am lovin’ it! I am having a Cricut swarm Weekend!  So I did go digital there and did spend some of my time scanning paper, but hey, why not.  I got another book done and did a great page for my neighbor.  I am happy!  I just wish we had internet connection there.  Well another day of digital!
